Tuesday’s Backpages: CC and K-Rod
Click on the links to go that newspaper’s home page.
If yesterday was any indication expect both New York teams to stay extremely active at the Winter Meetings. It will be interesting to see how the Sabathia sweepstakes unfolds. According to Dodgers GM Ned Colletti CC told him he wants to be a Dodger. Would he accept an offer less than the Yankees’ to play on the west coast? If so, his agent might to look for a new line of work.

Were Coles’ Favre Comments a Big Joke?
Rich Cimini of the Daily News is reporting that Brett Favre told Laveranues Coles to jokingly tell the San Fran media during a conference call that he and Coles do not get along. As we all know by this point Coles did in fact make disparaging comments toward Favre in said conference call.
Personally, I would much rather see Coles and Favre imitate Manning and Harrison as opposed to Abbott and Costello. If this is true and this was a whole scheme the two cooked up I think it shows a lack of focus as evident by the way the Jets came out and played yesterday.
Lastly, regardless of the circumstances surrounding this conference call, Coles has still worn out his welcome in my opinion and needs to go after the conclusion of the season.

Mets Fan Confidence Rating
Every Friday Matt Cerrone from metsblog.com gauges the confidence Mets have in their team on that particular date. Thought I would throw it up here every so often so you guys could keep your fingers on the pulse of Mets nation. 58% sounds about right considering the team has really done nothing to get better since last season ended.
